Money Laundering Checks, sometimes known as anti-money laundering (AML) checks, are identity assessments to ensure that investors are who they claim to be and are not acting on behalf of someone else. 

Most money laundering checks will be completed using background data from the electoral roll and are often used in bridging finance when dealing with large transfers of money via CHAPS.
