Property Deeds

Property deeds are legal documents that transfer the ownership of a property and its land, the tenure (freehold or leasehold) and the boundaries from a seller to a buyer.

For a deed to be legal, it has to state the buyer and seller's name, describe the property being sold, and include signatures of both parties.

The deeds are often kept by HM Land Registry when you register the property in your name.
