Property Development Finance

Property development finance is the process of financing the initial costs of property development. These costs can include land acquisition, preparation and construction. Property development finance aims to provide either an interim or long term finance structure that permits developments to progress.

When purchasing a new property, undertaking refurbishments or regeneration, a substantial amount of money is needed before a developer can realise any return on their investment.

Property finance is usually taken out to bridge the time gap between acquiring the capital required and generating an income. To do so, a developer may take out what is called development finance, which provides long term loans for developers to use to complete their projects.
