How much do barn conversions cost?

By Sam Covington | Thursday 12th May 2022 | 1 minute read

Converting a barn can be an extremely rewarding project, with huge profit potential. But it can also be a physically, emotionally and financially challenging project to embark upon.

Factors such as your location, the barn size and condition, and the materials used will impact the cost of the barn conversion.

As of 2022, the average barn conversion cost was £275,000 and of the 522 barn conversions currently available in the UK on onthemarket.com, the average 'for sale' price is currently £738,967. But financing conversion projects is not as straight-forward as standard renovations and may require expert development finance or bridging finance advice

With the potential to turn an old barn into your dream home, an AirBnb property for rental income, or as an investment opportunity as part of your property sales portfolio, what do you need to consider when embarking on a barn conversion?
